When you read a statement by an Israeli that is so strongly worded, it becomes a bit infuriating. Ben-Eliezer claims that the US is pushing the Middle East into a "catastrophe". It is interesting to note that Ben-Eliezer had nothing critical to say about the US when the US invaded Iraq on a pack of lies. What did this action do to the Middle East? He objected not when the US gave backing to murderous Israeli operations in Lebanon in 2006 and Gaza in 2008/2009. He did not mention once the protection the US offers Israel at the Security Council. He did not mention the material support the US gives Israel. He did not mention that all while this is going on that Israel continues to slap the US in the face on the "peace process". The US backed Israel with the Flotilla incident, the Goldstone Report, and where was this Israeli critic? Enjoying US protection, but he has the audacity to criticize the US about the situation in Egypt? Wow. Take, take, take is all the Israelis do from the US and what do we get in return? It is not enough that US support of Israel has cost the US heavily in regards to our image in the world. The Israelis have not honored the terms of the original Camp David Accords and the Egyptian people overwhelmingly support the Palestinian people. For decades the Egyptian regime followed US orders and ignored the will of its people. What happens eventually is people get fed up, like the Iranians with the Shah. Eventually the country becomes more radical as a result. If Ben-Eliezer or the Israelis in general do not like this transformation, then they should have pursued a more principled path for the last few decades. If the US is shifting it position, I believe we have earned the right to do so. You should have listened better Israel. Now you get what you deserve!!!
