Proof of Israeli Intransigence

These leaked documents demonstrate what many people of conscience have known for a long time now; The Israelis do not want peace. Every time there has been a breakthrough or a threat that a deal could be made, the Israelis balk, a la Taba or the Arab League Proposals or Hamas's statement that it would recognize Israel. Israel wants it cake and eat it too, and of course their PR machine blames the Palestinians every step of the way.

Israel's time for balking is about over. Without Egypt, an ally of Israel bought and paid for by the U.S., Israel will have to hunker down and negotiate. After Egypt closed any avenue of escape for the people of Gaza during Operation Cast Lead, I say change is probably good for the world.

I agree completely. Israel rejectionism will soon be at end. The will of the masses cannot be ignored forever by firm-fisted rulers. The situation in Egypt has finally boiled to the surface. Mubarak has bowed to US pressure and Israeli demands for too long and now the political cost is heavy. We have seen in the past how populations react to US meddling (Iran, Central America, et al) where the final outcome was far worse for the US than the economic reasons which precipitated US involvement, whether wanted or not. Israel better be careful.
